TYLER

Tyler is highly insulted that I haven't put a picture of him on my blog so here he is with his new girlfriend Ashley.
He totally needs to shave and get a hair cut!!! But he's still adorable!! I love him so much and couldn't be happier that he's here with me. I've only met Ashley once but I hope to get to know her better. She seems like a sweet girl. Ok Tyler, are you happy now?:)

The Blind Side

Saturday night Chris and I went to see The Blind Side. It was wonderful!! Sandra Bullock was the best I had ever seen her. I cried, laughed and walked out of there wanting to be a better person. I highly recommend this movie to everyone. You'll love it!

I'm still busy sewing Christmas gifts. I'm so proud of the way they've turned out. I'm not posting any pictures because then you'll know what you're getting!! I've got to get them done this week so I can get everything in the mail.

Today has been a lovely day. Chris and I did the grocery shopping and then curled up by the fire to watch football. I was crushed by the Redskins losing to the Cowboys. I thought for sure they were going to win. All in all it's been a really good weekend.

Busy Sewing Day!

Today I've spent the whole day in my sewing room. It's been great. I don't have any pictures because I've started several things and haven't finished anything! I'm working on Christmas gifts for my family and I'm so excited with the way they're turning out. I hope everyone loves them as much as I've loved creating them.

As I sit here typing my sewing machine is busy humming away stiching an embroidery pattern. I still marvel at the technology of these machines. Push a button and it creates the most beautiful stitched design. I just love it.

Chris and Tyler are excited tonight...........................we just got back from Best Buy and Target with the much anticipated Call of Duty video game. Chris even bought Tyler a subscription to XBOX Live. It brought me to tears when I watched him give that to Tyler and see the two of them bonding. Nothing in this world makes me happier than to see my husband show my son such kindness.

Well, I'm going to clean up my sewing mess for the night and get back to it tomorrow. Hope everyone has a good day tomorrow!

Not Sewing Related --- Trip to Arizona

I just wanted to share a few pictures from our trip to Arizona. It started out at the bottom of the state in Tombstone. For any of you who have seen the movie "Tombstone" let me just say it was like stepping back in time. I had SO much fun there. The town is just like you would imagine back in the 1800's. We went on a ghost tour, watch a reenactment of the gun fight at the OK Corral and even had a drink at the famous Crystal Palace Saloon. I can't tell you how much I enjoyed our time there.
We took a tour of Tombstone the old fashion way....................Stage Coach!

Picture with the cast of the OK Coral Gun fight. From left to right, Doc Holliday, Chris, Virgil Earp, me, the man himself.........Wyatt Earp!!

What fun this was. I will remember this trip always!!

Now on the the main attraction of the trip to Arizona. We drove from Tombstone all the way through the whole state to get to the Grand Canyon. Neither one of us had ever been there, so needless to say we were VERY excited. I've seen many pictures and television shows of the grand canyon, but nothing prepared me for the true majesty of it. It really is one of God's greatest masterpieces. We took TONS of pictures so here are just a few. Hope you enjoy!

We encountered a bull elk right in the yard of one of the hotels along the rim of the canyon. It was amazing to get that close to such a beautiful, wild animal.

We even got to take a mule ride. It was a three hour trip and SO much fun!! My bottom and legs paid for it the next day. This body is not use to riding a mule or anything else for that matter!!

You can see the Colorado river in the center of the picture.

Well, I hope you all enjoyed the pictures. It was a trip I'll never forget. Ok, enough of this computer stuff...................it's back to sewing!!

Oh, one more thing....................I wanted to say to my nieces Jen and Nicki, thanks for the comments. I read your blogs everyday and I miss you so much!! I can't tell you how proud I am of both of you and what beautiful families you have. Jen, you look great, and Nick I can't believe how crafty you're getting. I wish everday that I was there to be a part of your everyday lives. That's enough of the sappy stuff, I just want you both to know I love you!!

Finally Something To Show!!

Well, here it is.....................the first finished project to show you. This shirt was made from McCalls M5929. I loved the fabric on the pattern envelope so much I made my own out of the same plaid. I think it turned out great!! I love the ruffles and sleeves. It looks great with jeans as well as a skirt. It's short sleeve, but living in Texas, I'm able to wear it most of the year.

I have so many projects going on in my sewing room right at the moment. It's hard for me to decide where to start..............I'm working on a dress (Simplicity 2568), a vest (Simplicity 2862), Christmas gifts, cards, etc. And after reading a few blogs that have reviewed the book Design - It - Yourself Clothes, by Cal Patch, I'm anxious to start designing my own patterns. That may have to wait until after Christmas. I have to say, that book is FABULOUS!!!! I read it like a novel and it reads just like a good friend talking you through it! I'm so happy I found it and look forward to putting it to good use.
Well, that's it for now. Back to the sewing!!!
