Latest Sewing Project

Yesterday I made McCall's 4444. I have to say I LOVE THIS DRESS!!!! It was so easy to make and fits like a glove! I love the crab fabric so much. It reminds me of home.

Here's a close up of the fabric. It's a blue and white seersucker with red crabs embroidered on it. I'm already planning on making this dress again, I just can't decide on which fabric to use.

Chris left this morning on another business trip. So I have free reign of the house. That means sandwhiches for dinner and lots of sewing!! Not to mention catching up on dvr'd shows. Tyler just left. We visited for a while this morning then he was off to play music with friends. Now that he has his own car he's never home! I'm counting the days until Chris and I leave for Florida........3 weeks left. That's plenty of time to get more clothes made. I'm working on some tops today and then I will make some shorts.
It's a beautiful day here, finally!! Hope everyone is having a great day! Lots of love!! Lisa

Here's What I've Been Up To

I've been busy sewing a new summer wardrobe. Chris and I are going to Key West next month and I really wanted some new things to wear so here's a few outfits:
I made both this skirt and tank top and just love them both. The skirt is a soft stretch denim and the top is blue and white striped seersucker.

This is one of my favorites!! The skirt is linen with embroidered anchors. The shirt came from Wal-Mart and I embroidered a white anchor on it. I love this look so much!

I love this one too!! I bought this green and white alligator embroidered seersucker from trendyfabrics.com. The shirt is a Lacoste (had to have the green alligator to go with the skirt).

I made this dress yesterday and I really like it. I love the preppy colors and it's super comfortable. I even like it without the belt!

Here's the infamous halter dress. When I started making this I was afraid I was going to have a hard time, but it was pretty easy to put together. Now after looking at the pictures I'm not sure if I like it or not. I look a little dumpy. I know my plaid doesn't match, but I expected that. This was suppose to be a trial run. Maybe with a few tweaks, my hair up and cute shoes I'll like it better.
I've made several more skirts out of super cute fabric, but I figured I better not press my luck with my photographer (Tyler). I'm having the best time making my clothes. I'm saving alot of money and believe it or not I'm proud to wear them!! They don't look homemade at all!!
Hope everyone is having a great day!! Love to you all!!

For Nicki

Our computer crashed a couple of days ago! What a frustrating thing. I would like to get my hands on the hackers that created the virus that attacked us!!! Anyway, we've got most of it fixed, just not the email. So this post is for Nicki, so you can see the t-shirt I finished. I think it turned out really cute. I'm going to get it in the mail tomorrow morning.
I hope your friend likes it. Not much else going on this week. Still busy sewing summer clothes. I promise I'll get pictures up soon. It's a beautiful day here. I took a mile walk this morning. This old body is starting to look and feel 40 so I've got to do something :)!
Well, hope everyone has a great day!
Love, Lisa
